18. Mount Fuji
| The next day we leave Tokyo for the Hakone region, which includes Mount Fuji. It was a beautiful, clear day and, on arrival in Tonasawa, we used the "switchback railway", funicular railway and then cable car to reach the ridge of the mountains, and were rewarded with a clear view of Fuji. That night the weather closed in completely and made further travel around the area almost impossible. |
