Cherry Blossom Time in Japan - 2015

11. Cherry blossoms, Tokyo

Many of the locals are wearing face masks to guard against hay fever induced by the pollen but, wherever there are cherry trees, there are people engaging in "hanami", or flower viewing. The blossoms only last for a little more than a week and so, even as the weather turns bad, nobody is deterred.
