| Next, we travel south to Lijiang, at the foot of the Himalayas. For about 1,400 years Lijiang has been the cultural centre for the Naxi minority people. It was virtually destroyed by an earthquake in 1996 and has been almost totally rebuilt as a modern, tourist oriented, version of the old town . |
