11. Luzhii, a "water town" near Shanghai
| 11. Luzhi is one of a number of "water towns" to the west of Shanghai. It was built over 1,400 years ago and is a beautiful, well preserved piece of history with a network of canals. There is a constant procession of boats carrying Chinese tourists (by now it has become obvious that non-Chinese tourists, such as us, are a very small minority wherever we go). |
