40. Lao Cai station
| From Sapa we have travelled to Lao Cai, from where we will take the overnight Fanxipan Express to Hanoi. Before we depart another train arrives and, among the passengers, are these ladies carrying huge loads of goods on the poles across their shoulders. We were told they carry up to 150kg - we tried but could not lift the load of one of the ladies. |
