24. The black teeth culture in a Red Dao village
| En route from Sin Ho to Sapa we stop at a number of villages. In one of them, a Black Dao minority village, the people have a culture of blackening their teeth in order to look more beautiful. Often this is accompanied by gold coloured covering on one or two teeth. This lady is typical of that culture. |
