| Not far from the Royal Palace is Wat Mai, the largest temple in Luang Prabang. The facade of Wat Mai Wat consists of this magnificent gilded bas-relief which depicts scenes from the Buddha's penultimate reincarnation, set within the villages and flora and fauna of the area around Luang Prabang. |
