This is an album of photos taken during our 2010 trip to Alaska. The trip began with a ten day cruise on a small ship, Spirit of Endeavour, which carried 95 passengers from Juneau through the sheltered waters of the Inside Passage south as far as Wrangell, before visiting Petersburg and Sitka. En route, the cruise visited Tracy Arm, to see the Sawyer Glacier, and Frederick Sound, where we encountered many whales and bald eagles, before spending our last day in spectacular Glacier Bay. Following the cruise we flew to Anchorage, from where we visited Silver Salmon Creek Lodge, a small lodge on the shore of Cook Inlet, where we watched bears on the beach and finally took a floatplane tour from Anchorage through the Chugach Mountains to the Knik Glacier. |
