Zhaoxing village, Southern China
| In our quest to find genuine village life in China we travelled a long way through mountains and over muddy roads to reach Zhaoxing. This is a Dong minority village built in 1160 in a natural basin on a small river. It is centred around the waterway and the traditional Dong drumtowers and belltowers. It is a truly magic place which time seems to have passed by. |
