Elephant seals at Hannah Point, in the Antarctic

Hannah Point, in the South Shetland Islands, is home to a large colony of elephant seals, each weighing up to 4 tons. At this time of the year they must leave the water for about two weeks while they shed their outer layer of skin and, during this time, they cluster together in large groups.
